Connect Base: Turn travel mode on or off
Your Connect Base has no off switch. Your learner should always be able to communicate with their Buttons, so there is no way to turn the Buttons off.
Sometimes you want the Base to ignore Button presses, for example when you travel, clean or move your board. For this, use travel mode.
What travel mode does
Section titled “What travel mode does”In travel mode, the Base does not play sounds when Buttons are pressed. It also goes into a very low-power state to save battery power. All sounds, linked Buttons and settings on the Base are kept.
Turn travel mode on
Section titled “Turn travel mode on”Before you start, make sure that:
- The Base is idle: the LED is off, and the Base is not in Wi-Fi mode or setup mode.
- The Base is not charging. While the Base is plugged in, it does not enter travel mode, and the LED shows the green charging light.
Then:
- Hold the Base Button on the bottom of the Base for more than 15 seconds.
- At about 4 seconds, the LED pulses cyan quickly for about a second and goes dark. Keep holding.
- At 15 seconds, the LED lights cyan and fades out over about a second.
- Release the Base Button. The Base powers down about 3 seconds later.
The Base plays no sound. If you release the button between 4 and 10 seconds, the Base enters setup mode instead. If you release it between 10 and 15 seconds, nothing happens.
To check that travel mode is on, press a Connect Button. The Base should not play a sound.
Turn travel mode off
Section titled “Turn travel mode off”- Press the Base Button once, shorter than 4 seconds.
- The LED fades in cyan over about a second, then goes off.
Plugging in the charging cable also wakes the Base from travel mode, without the LED. The Base plays no sound and does not start Wi-Fi mode. All Buttons now play sounds again when pressed.
If you moved the Base to a new place with a different Wi-Fi network, connect the Base to that network. See Connect Base: Connect to a new Wi-Fi network.
Travel tips
Section titled “Travel tips”- Pack the Connect Base in its original box. It has room for the Base and all 6 connectors.
- Your HexTiles and Buttons are best protected, and easiest to move, in the Soundboard Carrier.
